IDF Russia 2021: stands of Intel and its partners
We continue our story about the exposition presented at the Intel Developer Forum held this week. Many interesting things have already been presented in our today’s article Intel Developer Forum 2021, some are worth mentioning additionally.
Intel Developer Services booth showcases Intel’s software developer support program. There it was also possible to register for participation in this program.
The Intel Communication Sales Organization (CSO) booth was dedicated to the development and implementation of 802.16a (WiMAX). The stand demonstrated in real time the possibility of broadband wireless communication in the 802 standard network.16a containing the base station (point ? many points) and the subscriber station. Network hardware and support provided by Alvarion in collaboration with Intel.
SCO also demonstrated the capabilities of voice mail, unified messaging and conferencing over IP using host media processing (HMP), which was used as three dual-processor workstations based on Intel Xeon.
At the stands of the Intel Nizhny Novgorod Center for Software Development, visitors to the exhibition could see several interesting demonstrations at once. For example, the Forum participants stood for a long time at the stand, where a server based on a Pentium 4 processor decoded high-definition video (HDTV), performed re-compression, reducing the resolution and frame rate, so that later using 802.11b transfer “lightweight” image to a PDA based on Intel Xscale.
The exposition was very interesting and visual, which demonstrated the system for creating a video conference using 3D synthetic video technology, which does not require high bandwidth. The technology includes fully automatic recognition and tracking of facial expressions and head movements of a speaking person, calculation and transmission of facial animation parameters over a network, creation of a personalized model of a person participating in a conference, animation and rendering of an arbitrary model in accordance with the animation parameters obtained. Thus, the Center’s specialists organize the broadcast of streaming video simultaneously to a server based on an Intel Xeon processor, as well as to a PDA based on Intel XScale. High definition video (HDTV) will be decoded on the server, then compressed at a lower frame rate and transmitted to the PDA via 802.11 wireless technology.11b.
Visitors were able to test the capabilities of the system by posing in front of the camera, while the movements of their faces were converted with the help of facial expressions of one of the included models ? a monkey, a man, and even a bust of Max Planck. 🙂
