?FR: Epson micro robots conquer the air
At the 2021 International Robot Exhibition, which kicks off in Tokyo today, Seiko Epson will unveil the µFR (micro flying robot) miniature flying robot.
µ is sent flying using counter-rotating propellers. The robot uses a special motor and position stabilizer to prevent the device from displacement in the horizontal plane. The robot is powered by a 3.5 V battery, while the power consumption is approximately 3 W. The diameter of the whole structure is about 130mm, the height ? 70 mm, weight ? about 8.9 grams, of which 2.5 grams are for the radio control device, 1.3 grams ? for sensors, and only 5.1 grams for mechanisms.
Thus, Epson surpassed the founder of modern robotics: if Sony robots can dance, then Epson robots are already beginning to conquer the air. So far, however, it is not known whether the Epson robot can do anything other than get off the ground and float in the air.
