FreeBSD site has released a press release about the release of FreeBSD new version 5.2.
This is the functionality of FreeBSD 5.2 announced in the announcement:
- Supports single and multiprocessor systems based on AMD Athlon64 and Opteron chips
- Updated and expanded support for IDE, SATA and 802 class devices.11a / b / g, greatly improved ACPI support
- Client support for Network File System 4 protocol
- For the first time – experimental support for multithreaded filtering and IP traffic optimization

- Improved stability and performance over FreeBSD 5.one
