Photo of the day: Samsung CLP-500 color laser printer
In our laboratory on a test bench – Samsung’s debutant in the color laser printing market, the Samsung CLP-500 printer.
We have already mentioned this model many times in our news and reports, now it’s time to try out the capabilities of this printer. Let me briefly remind you of its characteristics: duplex, print speed – 5 ppm in color and up to 20 ppm in monochrome, resolution – up to 1200 dpi, warm-up – 24 s for color printing and 13 s for monochrome, standard memory capacity – 64 MB, expandable to 192 Mb.
In the basic delivery, the printer is equipped with a parallel and USB 2.0 interfaces, however, one should immediately note an interesting highlight of the Samsung CLP-500:
Initial examination of the model showed that it can optionally be supplied with support for 10/100 Mbps LAN, as well as with an integrated Wi-Fi interface. An idea of how Wi-Fi looks like in Samsung printers can be obtained from how this interface is implemented in the monochrome model of the Samsung ML-2552W laser printer, which we are also testing:
In general, it should be noted that the Samsung CLP-500 printer implements a lot of other original engineering solutions, for example, the shape and location of the drum and toner cartridges. However, all the details ? in upcoming article…
